  4. iView can read file formats supported by QuickTime and the XTND translation system (see installation notes).
  5.  
  6. As of QuickTime version 2.5 and available XTND translators, iView supports:
  7.         GIF (supported natively)
  8.         JPEG
  9.         Photoshop 
  10.         Silicon Graphics
  11.         QuickTime Image
  12.         PICT
  13.         MacPaint
  14.  
  15.         TIFF (Uncompressed)
  16.         EPS (Macintosh)
  17.         clippings
  18.         Movie (Posters)
  19.         StartupScreen
  20.         Windows BMP/DIBShortcuts
  21.  
  22. QuickTime 3 is expected this summer and will allow iView and will expand the offering of images supported.

TIFF, EPS, clip's, Movie, StartupScreen and several other types are currently imported via the XTND system. Make sure to have XTND installed to read these formats. XTND and the clip's, Movie, StartupScreen translators are included and should be put in the System Folder:Claris Folder:Translators Folder.

  26. iView/QuickTime does not support Photoshop files with complex 
  27. layer/channel arrangement. iView/EPSF_XTND supports Macintosh EPS files only (as opposed to generic or IBM EPS). This is because Macintosh EPS files (although identical to other types) they contain their image info within their resource fork. iView/TIFF_XTND supports uncompressed TIFF files only.
